THE KRIYA YOGA BLOG
Nurturing Your Mind, Body, and Spirit on the Path of Yoga and Self-Discovery
If you haven't heard already, I've had to move my website to a new platform which means I have to start my blog there anew. It saddens me, of course, because I have loved writing this blog so much. Almost 20 years of my life went into it. I kind of can't believe I have to walk away...
It's my hope though, with time, I'll eventually bring all these beautiful posts over to my new blog. Until then, if you're here now, I do hope you follow me over there. And, if you have ever found any joy in any particular blog, please let me know. Sending you love, affection and grace from afar. Keep in touch xoxo ~Ashley

The ancient yogi Patanjali laid out a path to higher consciousness, emphasizing self-discipline, study, and devotion. Echoing this sentiment, Uma Dinsmore-Tuli, in "Mother's Breath," highlights the transformative power within women, particularly through their breath. She beautifully whispers: "The breath is a unique tool for transformation. It reveals our emotional state and offers the means to transform it into serenity." This begs the question: how can we tap into this power to cultivate calm and peace in our own lives? ✨Babaji’s Guidance ✨ ENTER PRANAYAMA, the yogic art of breath control. Just like the rose silently speaks through its fragrance, our breath can become a language of inner harmony, radiating outward positivity. Pranayama practices offer a potent blend of self-discipline through focused awareness, self-study through exploration of different techniques, and a subtle form of devotion as we surrender to the rhythm of our breath.
Here's how pranayama can help you blossom: 1. Cultivating Inner Peace:
Remember, finding calm and peace is a journey, not a destination. Start by incorporating short, simple pranayama practices into your daily routine. These cups of warmth and wellness hold the secrets to nourishing not just the body, but the spirit, carrying the essence of comfort and serenity through the chilly months. As winter blankets the world in its serene chill, we find solace and warmth in simple pleasures. Among them, herbal teas with their comforting aromas and delightful flavors become our allies in sustaining well-being. In Ayurveda, the wisdom of herbal teas is woven into the fabric of seasonal living, aligning with the shifting energy and doshic influences. Today, we embark on a journey to explore the delightful world of Ayurvedic herbal teas that encompass lavender, chamomile, honey, and other flowers — RECIPE CARDS INCLUDED!. These herbal infusions hold not only the promise of physical health but also the power to elevate mood during the winter months. Plus, we'll discover how these aromatic concoctions can be a soothing gift for the youngest members of our family. Teas for the DoshasIn the delicate balance of Ayurveda, our well-being is intricately connected to the shifting seasons. As winter gracefully envelops the world, it brings with it the prominence of Vata dosha, introducing qualities of dryness, coldness, and movement. This natural occurrence can sometimes leave us feeling scattered or longing for warmth, disrupting the harmony within our bodies. Yet, Ayurveda, the ancient science of life, offers us profound wisdom. Each dosha - Vata, Pitta, and Kapha - responds uniquely to the changing weather. Vata, already marked by qualities of cold and dryness, can become imbalanced, while Pitta may struggle with the season's intensity, and Kapha can feel the chill penetrating their inherent warmth. In this season of winter, our aim is to restore equilibrium. The teas we explore hold the key, meticulously crafted to pacify each dosha's unique imbalances. Vata, with its delicate constitution, finds comfort in the soothing embrace of lavender and chamomile in our Lavender & Chamomile Serenity Tea. Pitta, often sensitive to heat, benefits from the cooling properties of roses and hibiscus, found in our Rose & Hibiscus Cooling Tea. Kapha, prone to cold and dampness, is invigorated by the warmth and zesty essence of ginger and lemon in our Ginger & Lemon Revitalizing Tea. These teas are more than just delightful infusions; they are ancient recipes carefully designed to bring harmony to your unique dosha, ensuring your well-being aligns with the serene rhythm of the season. Let’s delve into the art of balancing our doshas through these aromatic concoctions, embracing the wisdom of Ayurveda as we navigate winter's embrace. For Vata Imbalance: |

❤ WHAT STUDENTS SAY ABOUT ASHLEY CRUZ YOGA ❤
"From Aldea Yanapay (great school of love to children), to the incredible homely hostel la boheme, to the food at mercado san blas and at greenpoint... My 6 weeks in Cusco/Qosqo/centre/gravitational centre were all truly well balanced out by Ashley ● I have been doing yoga for five years in London, Lisbon and NYC and I was wonderfully surprised by the teacher Ashley in Cusco, Peru. From her words, to the sense of opportunity, helping, the pace, the getting everyone's names and brief "why am I here", taste for music and simply those oils... vinyasa gained a new look for me. ● You made me feel so balanced out, just when I needed that push. May your excellent work continue and your knowledge be taken further." ~ Yours, Ana Maria (portugal)
